Flights can be cancelled for all sorts of reasons, and Easyjet is not immune to the odd cancellation.
However, If you wish to continue your journey as soon as possible it is important to act quickly.
When Easyjet cancels a flight they immediately update their website to allow you to change your booking free of charge. It is therefore important to know your username and password for accessing the Easyjet website. A cancellation may occur at any time so make sure to watch out for any announcements, especially on your day of travel.
Clearly the most difficult situation is if your flight is cancelled at the last minute. Flights have even been cancelled after they have taxied from the terminal building with all the passengers on board. At this point you want to access the Easyjet website as quickly as possible. Many people now have internet on their phone, otherwise phone a friend and ask them to log in on your behalf.
Once logged in to your account you will be presented with the option to change your flight. As you are probably one of the first passengers to do this, you will be able to find the best flight available. Often this means you can access the next flight, while many of the other passengers may not get a new flight for a day or two.
Once you have re-booked your flight, you can relax and follow the instructions given by the Easyjet staff. In some cases you will be offered overnight accommodation. You will have to queue to get your voucher though! Meals are often included, but you may need to check if the cost of your hotel transfer is included.
More often than not your flight won’t be cancelled, but it is useful to know how to minimise the disruption to your travels if there is a cancellation!
