Home Page

After logging in to Kiribu, you will be taken to your home page from where you can access all the features of the site. This page describes what all the areas and buttons of the page represent.

Home Page Link – Area A

This is part of the header. When you are inside the site, the header always looks like this. Clicking in this area takes you to the front page of the site.

Join and Log In / Log Out – Area B

This area contains the log in and log out options. If you are logged in, it displays your name and avatar. It is displayed on every page of the site. When you are logged in, you can click on your avatar or name to take you back to your home page.

This is the search bar. It is displayed on every page of the site. You can search for anything here. Destinations, activities, other users, groups and more. Clicking search takes you to the results page where you can filter the results to find exactly what you are looking for.

Sidebar – Area D

This is the sidebar. This part shows the owner of the page you are viewing. If you are looking at your own pages, it will display your avatar and username. You can also press one of the quick-click buttons to quickly add photos, add articles, or to find things to do near you.

If you are visiting another member’s page, it will show their avatar and username. The quick-click buttons change to follow that user, mention them or to send them a private message.

The rest of the sidebar displays the users followers, groups, and occasionally some other options depending on the account.

Primary Menu – Area E

This is the primary menu bar of the user identified in Area D. This doesn’t show when you are viewing an article, album, photo or group. But you can easily return to it by clicking the user in Area D. From here you can select:

  • Activity – Update your status or view activity
  • Articles – Add or view articles
  • Photos – Add or view photos
  • Follow – Manage and view who you are following and who is following you
  • Groups – Manage or view groups
  • Messages – If you are viewing your own home page, you can also manage and view private messages
  • Profile – Update or view profile

Groups and Messages can have a number after them, e.g. Groups (2). This number indicates the number of new requests to you.

  • Groups -  Number of invites to new groups
  • Messages – Number of unread messages you have received

Secondary Menu – Area F

This is the secondary menu bar of the user identified in Area D. This doesn’t show when you are viewing an article, album, photo or group. But you can easily return to it by clicking the user in Area D. Once you have selected one of the pages from the primary menu bar, you can select further options here.

The Main Body

The main body of the page is where most of the action takes place. Once you have selected a page from the menu bars you can view or edit the content here.
