Your Kiribu account includes a private messaging system, so that you can send and receive messages with any other member of Kiribu. You can access your inbox by clicking ‘Messages’ on the primary menu bar labelled E in the image on the right. This page has 3 options to manage your
messages.
Inbox
You can view all the messages sent to you here. The number in brackets following Inbox, e.g. Inbox (4) tells you how many unread messages you have.
Select the message title to view the message. This will take you to a new screen which will show the message along with any replies. After the message there is the option to add a reply to the message.
A message can be deleted by clicking the ‘X’ to the right of the title.
After the list of messages there is a control bar which helps you manage your messages. Select multiple messages to change them all to read, unread or to delete them. You can also use the ‘Select:’ option to select all message, all read or all unread messages to save time selecting each individual message.
Sent Messages
All the messages you send are saved in this page. This page is in an identical format to the inbox.
Select the message title to view the message. This will take you to a new screen which will show the message along with any replies. After the message there is the option to add a reply to the message.
A message can be deleted by clicking ‘X’ to the right of the title.

Compose
To write a new message click the compose tab to open a page where you can create an email. There are three boxes to fill in.
- Send To (Username or Friend’s Name) – enter a member’s name or user name. If you are sending a message to someone you are following, Kiribu will auto-complete the name for you. You can enter multiple names by separating them by a comma, e.g. membera, memberb
- Subject – enter a title for your message
- Message – enter your message here
Make sure you fill in all the fields before sending your message. Click ‘Send Message’ to send the message.
Use Quick-Click Send Message
If you are on another member’s home page you can message them directly by selecting the Quick-Click Send Message button. This will take you directly to your compose message page, where you can write them a message.
