This help page describes all the features of the Profile section of your account. Business members have a few additional features described below. 
To access the Profile section click the Profile tab in the primary menu, labelled E in the image on the right. This gives access to a number of different pages listed in the secondary menu, labelled F.
Public
This section displays what other users see when they check out your profile.
Edit Profile
Here you can edit and update all your personal information. You can also control who can view the information you place here. In the ‘About Me’ section feel free to write as much or as little about yourself, where you live, where you have been, etc.
Other information you can add is where you’ve been, where you are and where you are going. You can also select to be available for local information. This way people can contact you about information near where you live.
You can restrict who can view all your personal details using the drop down box shown above.
Business Members
Business members are invited to add some extra information, including information about services provided and a link to your website. Business members can also add a map and directions. Detailed instructions of how to do this are here.
Accommodation Booking
If you own a hotel, hostel or similar and are listed with Expedia, you can add a ‘Check Availability’ box to your sidebar. Just enter your unique hotelID in the box provided. Full details on where to find your ID are here. We are currently in the process of adding links to other booking sites.
Change Avatar
An Avatar is an image that is permanently associated with your account. You can add or change your image here at any time.
- It is best to upload an image that is at least 100 pixels square to ensure a good quality image, but we advise against uploading an image that is larger than 500 pixels square.
- Select ‘Choose …’ or ‘Browse …’ to find an image on your computer, and ‘Upload Image’ to upload the image.
- Your image will be displayed, and you can select any area to crop it. Click ‘Crop Image’ once you are happy with your selection.
Email & Password
You can change your email address or your password here. You must enter your current password to confirm your changes.
Notices
By default, Kiribu sends you an email notification whenever certain events happen on your account, for example if you gain a new follower, or if someone mentions you. You can disable any or all of these notices here.
Resources
We have provided a bunch of resources you can use to tell people about your Kiribu account here. There are electronic links and widgets, as well as business cards and flyers you can print out. Remember you can win prizes and earn commission if you refer a business to Kiribu.
