Rewards

There are many websites which rely on their members to provide the content. These are known as User Generated Content (UGC) websites. Examples are Facebook and Wikipedia. However, members are rarely financially rewarded for providing all this information.

At Kiribu we value our members and believe you should receive a share of our income. We have a rewards scheme which starts automatically for all new members. This scheme is designed to reward members who invite businesses to join, and to reward members who contribute quality content.

You may invite anyone you know or anyone that has agreed to be invited by you to join Kiribu. If they join by replying to your invitation (usually by email), you will receive a fixed reward on any advertising purchase that new member makes from Kiribu for the duration of both memberships.

Note: you will only be connected if the new member enters your username in the referrer box on sign-up. This is done automatically if they follow an electronic invite link, otherwise they need to fill it in themselves. This can not be added afterwards.

Conditions

We are committed against spam mail. We understand that this scheme could be attractive to spammers. To reduce the possibility of abuse we are tightly controlling the reward system.

  • Please do invite all your friends and family to Kiribu!
  • Tell people and businesses about Kiribu and if they are interested, invite them to join
  • Link to Kiribu from your website, but please follow the instructions!
  • You must not invite people or businesses to Kiribu any other way

If you attempt to attract new members in a dishonest manner you may be banned from Kiribu and your account will be suspended or deleted. You would then lose any commission links you have previously arranged.

Anyone who receives an invitation to join Kiribu is given an easy opportunity to report unwelcome invites.

Prize Draw

If you invite any new business to join Kiribu and they join, you will be automatically entered into our competition. Prizes and winners will be advertised on the front page. Every 500 entries will start a new draw.

Commission Rates

We currently have a fixed commission of US$ 2 for any advert valued at over US$ 20.

Example

Yusuf is a member of Kiribu. He is travelling in Thailand. He goes on an organised tour of Bangkok and really enjoys it. So he speaks to the tour organiser and tells him about Kiribu, and asks if his company would like to join. The man says yes and gives Yusuf his email. Yusuf sends the man an email to join Kiribu. The man clicks the link and signs up to become a new business member of Kiribu. A few weeks later, he decides to advertise with Kiribu and spends $40 for advertising with Kiribu. Yusuf receives US$ 2.

Invite People By Email

You can invite people by email at any time from your profile page. Instructions are here.

Invite People Offline

There are two ways to invite people offline. You can either ask them for their email address and invite them as above in ‘Invite People By Email’ or you can give them our website name, kiribu.com, and your username. When they sign up they will be asked to enter a referrer name.

We have created an Invite Card that you can print off and use to give out to people you meet. This is especially useful if you are travelling. Instructions on how to download it are here.

Invite People From An External Website

You can also invite people from an external website. You may have a website already, or you may wish to create a website to promote your Kiribu profile. You can place a link to your Kiribu profile on your website, and if someone who is not a member clicks the link they will be invited to join Kiribu. You will automatically be linked to them for commission. Instructions on how to set this up are here.

Receiving Payment

All rewards are paid using PayPal, so you must have a PayPal account to receive your rewards. Payments will be made at the end of the month. Any charges imposed by PayPal will be deducted from your payment.
